Scott Ervin

Scott Ervin, M.Ed., is a behavioral consultant and former teacher, principal, superintendent, and discipline specialist whose career has focused on helping adults foster positive student behavior and calm, productive classroom environments. He is the founder and president of Ervin Educational Consulting and is widely known as “The Kid Whisperer,” working with schools and families across the United States to teach practical, real-world behavior management skills and procedures.

Ervin is the author of The Classroom Behavior Manual: How to Build Relationships with Students, Share Control, and Teach Positive Behaviors, published by ASCD, a comprehensive guide for educators on preventing and responding to negative student behaviors while promoting prosocial conduct. He holds a master’s degree in education from Antioch University McGregor and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Ohio University, and he writes a nationally syndicated advice column, “Ask the Kid Whisperer,” which appears in major newspapers including the Chicago Tribune, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Miami Herald, and Dallas Morning News.
