Sean Slade
Sean Slade is an education leader, speaker, and author with nearly three decades of experience in education in the United States and internationally. He is coauthor of School Climate Change: How Do I Build a Positive Environment for Learning? (ASCD Arias) and has written or coauthored additional books on educational reform and whole child education. His work focuses on school climate, the whole child, health and well‑being, resilience, and youth development as levers for school improvement.
Slade currently serves as Head of BTS Spark, North America, the social impact arm of BTS that supports educational leadership development. Previously, he was senior director of global outreach at ASCD, where he helped launch and expand the ASCD Whole Child Network across multiple countries and co-led development of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) model in partnership with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. An Australian-American based in the Washington, DC area, he has been a regular contributor to outlets such as The Washington Post, Huffington Post, and other education media, writing on school reform and whole child topics.
