Sheldon L. Eakins
Sheldon L. Eakins, PhD, is an experienced school administrator, education consultant, author, speaker, and founder of the Purposeful Teaching Academy and the Leading Equity Center. He has more than 15 years of experience in K–12 and higher education, serving as a teacher, school principal, adjunct professor, and director of special education. Eakins holds a BS in social science education, an MS in educational leadership, and a PhD in K–12 education/studies.
Eakins is the author of Meaningful Classroom Management: Adapting Your Teaching to Build Culture and Community, which focuses on culturally responsive classroom norms and belonging-centered management practices. He has also authored Leading Equity: Becoming an Advocate for All Students and other works on equity, school leadership, and student belonging, and he hosts the Leading Equity Podcast and the Art of Advocacy livestream, where he supports educators in implementing equitable, student-centered practices.
