Sheryl Sandberg
Sheryl Sandberg is an American technology executive, philanthropist, and writer best known for serving as chief operating officer of Facebook, now Meta Platforms, from 2008 to 2022. She is the founder of LeanIn.Org and the Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation, which supports initiatives including OptionB.org, focused on resilience and adversity. Sandberg earned a BA in economics summa cum laude from Harvard University and an MBA with highest distinction from Harvard Business School.
Before joining Facebook/Meta, Sandberg was vice president of global online sales and operations at Google, chief of staff at the U.S. Department of the Treasury under President Bill Clinton, a consultant at McKinsey & Company, and an economist at the World Bank. She is the bestselling author of several books on leadership and resilience, including Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy, co‑authored with Wharton professor Adam Grant, as well as Lean In and Lean In for Graduates.
