Simon Breakspear

Dr Simon Breakspear is an educational researcher, advisor and speaker specialising in educational leadership, policy and change. He is the creator of the Teaching Sprints method and author of Teaching Sprints: How Overloaded Educators Can Keep Getting Better, a practical framework that supports teachers to engage in short, evidence-informed cycles of professional improvement. Breakspear has worked with more than 100,000 educators across over 10 countries, helping school and system leaders enhance their impact on learning through clear, actionable tools and processes.

Breakspear is Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and has served as an advisor to the New South Wales Department of Education on leadership development and curriculum reform. He sits on an expert steering committee for the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL). He began his career as a high school teacher and holds a BPsych (Hons) from UNSW, an MSc in Comparative and International Education from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Education from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Gates Scholar.
