Sonja Cherry-Paul
Dr. Sonja Cherry-Paul is an educator, author, and founder of Red Clay Educators. She holds an Ed.D. and has more than 20 years of classroom experience, including work as a middle school teacher and later in literacy and equity-focused professional development.
Her books include Antiracist Reading Revolution: A Framework for Teaching Beyond Representation Toward Liberation (2024) and Breathing New Life into Book Clubs: A Practical Guide for Teachers (2019), which she co-authored with Dana Johansen. She has also co-authored Teaching Interpretation: Using Text-Based Evidence to Construct Meaning, Flip Your Writing Workshop: A Blended Learning Approach, and Critical Literacy: Unlocking Contemporary Fiction, and adapted Stamped (For Kids).
