Staci M. Zolkoski
Staci M. Zolkoski, PhD, is an associate professor of special education and director of the School of Education at the University of Texas at Tyler. Her teaching and research focus on classroom management, emotional and behavioral disorders, resilience, and social-emotional learning.
Before moving into higher education, Dr. Zolkoski taught kindergarten and fourth grade. She earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Toledo and a master’s degree and doctorate in special education with an emphasis in behavior disorders from the University of North Texas. Her published work includes Learning, Behavior, and Your Classroom: How to Create an Environment That Sets Students Up for Success and other research on teacher-student relationships, social-emotional learning, and student resilience.
