Stefanie W. Steele

Stefanie W. Steele is an author and educator with extensive experience in K–12 school leadership. She coauthored C.R.A.F.T. Conversations for Teacher Growth: How to Build Bridges and Cultivate Expertise (ASCD, 2019) with Sally J. Zepeda and Lakesha Robinson Goff. Steele has worked in the Gwinnett County Public School District in metro Atlanta since 2002 as an assistant principal at the middle and high school levels, serving in leadership roles spanning special education, technology, professional learning, curriculum, and assessment.

She has taught professional learning courses at the University of Georgia and is noted for her focus on improving graduation rates through data-driven decision-making, particularly for at-risk students and those facing barriers to graduation. Steele holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Policy and currently serves as a supervisor with Teach Gwinnett, the district’s alternative certification program, following a long career as a special education teacher and assistant principal in Gwinnett County Public Schools.
