Stephanie Affinito

Stephanie Affinito is a clinical teaching faculty member in the Department of Literacy Teaching and Learning at the University at Albany, State University of New York, where she teaches courses in literacy and childhood education. She holds a Ph.D. in Literacy from the University at Albany and previously worked in elementary schools as both a classroom teacher and reading specialist. Her work focuses on literacy coaching, teacher collaboration, and supporting teachers’ learning through digital tools and technology.

Affinito is the author of Literacy Coaching: Transforming Teaching and Learning with Digital Tools and Technology and Leading Literate Lives: Habits and Mindsets for Reimagining Classroom Practice, both published by Heinemann. She presents regularly at state and national conferences on literacy coaching and innovative uses of technology to support teachers’ reading, writing, and professional learning.
