Stephanie Gardner
Stephanie J. Gardner, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Special Education in the Department of Exceptionality Programs at Commonwealth University–Bloomsburg in Pennsylvania. She has more than 15 years of experience in special education, including teaching in K–8 special education settings as well as in higher education. Gardner’s work focuses on trauma-informed practices, classroom management, and support for students with disabilities, and she has contributed to scholarship on integrating comprehensive trauma-informed practices in schools.
Gardner is coauthor, with Timothy Knoster, of The Teacher’s Guide for Effective Classroom Management: A Trauma-Informed Approach (3rd ed., 2024), published by Paul H. Brookes Publishing Company. This book provides K–12 educators with practical, trauma-informed strategies for creating safe, supportive, and well-managed classroom environments for all learners.
