Steve Pearce

Steve Pearce is an educational author and consultant who focuses on the Professional Learning Communities (PLC at Work®) process, particularly on how schools can extend learning for students who have already demonstrated proficiency. He is the coauthor, with Mark Weichel, of What’s Next?: Monthly Extensions to Challenge Proficient Students in a PLC at Work®, a 2022 Solution Tree Press resource that provides preassessment tools and monthly extension strategies to help educators address the fourth PLC question: What will we do if they already know it?

Through his work with PLC at Work® professional development, Pearce contributes to training and workshops that guide schools in identifying proficient students and designing meaningful extensions rather than repetitive or “busy work,” supporting personalized and enriched learning experiences in collaborative teacher teams.
