Steven Foster

Steven Foster is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who worked with children and families in the Portland, Oregon, area for more than 30 years. His professional experience includes designing, directing, and delivering relationship-based treatment programs for young children and families facing emotional, social, and behavioral challenges. He also served as an Early Childhood Specialist with the Clackamas Education Service District, helping develop services for children from birth to age five and their families.

Foster became a Positive Discipline parent educator in 2001 and is a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer. He coauthored Positive Discipline for Children with Special Needs: Raising and Teaching All Children to Become Resilient, Responsible, and Respectful with Jane Nelsen and Arlene Raphael.
