Sue Ann Highland

Dr. Sue Ann Highland is an educational leader, national speaker, and industrial/organizational psychologist with over 25–30 years of experience working with schools and districts across the United States. A retired building and district administrator, she has served in roles including principal, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Federal Programs Director, and Career and Technical Education Director, leading school growth, systemic improvement, and educational change initiatives. She serves as National Education Strategist (also referred to as Lead or National Education Strategist) for School Specialty, where she partners with districts to align instructional vision, culture, and physical learning environments.

Highland is the author of Reimagining Learning Spaces: Designing Educational Environments for a New Generation, a research-based guide to creating inclusive, flexible, and emotionally supportive educational spaces that promote student engagement, collaboration, and academic success. In this work, she draws on her expertise as an industrial/organizational psychologist and as a school and district administrator to provide evidence‑based design principles, practical tools, and examples from real schools to help educators and leaders transform learning environments for modern education.
