Susan B. Katz

Susan B. Katz is a National Board Certified Teacher, bilingual educator, and award‑winning author whose work focuses on supporting multilingual learners and young readers. She has more than 30 years of experience as a Spanish bilingual elementary educator, literacy specialist, and educational consultant, and is a frequent keynote speaker and professional development facilitator for teachers. Katz has also worked in the tech sector as a Strategic Partner Manager for authors at Facebook, where she launched and ran the company’s author vertical.

As an author, Katz has written The SWIRL Method: Supporting Multilingual Learners as They Speak, Write, Interact, Read, and Listen, a K–12 practical guide that integrates speaking, writing, interacting, reading, and listening to foster English proficiency among multilingual learners. She is also the author of numerous children’s books, including picture books such as ABC, Baby Me!, My Mama Earth, ABC School’s for Me!, All Year Round (and its Spanish edition Un Año Redondo), and Meditation Station, as well as early reader biographies like The Story of Frida Kahlo, The Story of Fred Rogers, and The Story of Albert Einstein.
