Susan Kabot

Susan S. Kabot, EdD, CCC-SLP, is an autism specialist and speech-language pathologist who has served as executive director of the Autism Institute at Nova Southeastern University’s Mailman Segal Center for Human Development. In this role she has overseen programs including the Baudhuin Preschool, the Starting Right early intervention program for young children, the Autism Consortium providing outreach to school districts, and the Unicorn Children’s Foundation Clinic. She holds graduate degrees in special education and speech-language pathology and a doctoral degree in management of programs for children and youth.

Kabot is coauthor of Building Independence: How to Create and Use Structured Work Systems, an evidence-based guide to structured work systems for individuals with autism and related disorders, written with Christine E. Reeve. She is also cited as the author of Setting Up Classroom Spaces that Support Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Building Independence: Structured Work Systems for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, both focused on supporting students on the autism spectrum.
