Susan Kelley

Susan Kelley is a veteran reading teacher and co-author of Reading in the Wild: The Book Whisperer’s Keys to Cultivating Lifelong Reading Habits, written with reading expert Donalyn Miller. A longtime colleague of Miller, Kelley is described as a 30-year classroom veteran who has taught at Trinity Meadows Intermediate School in Keller, Texas.

In Reading in the Wild, Kelley contributes her extensive classroom experience to a practical guide that helps educators foster lifelong, “wild” reading habits in students, building on the ideas introduced in Miller’s earlier work The Book Whisperer.
