Susan O'Connell

Susan O’Connell is an educator, speaker, and education consultant focused on helping teachers make sense of mathematics and improve math instruction. According to her publisher bio, she is a former elementary teacher, reading specialist, and math coach, and she directs Quality Teacher Development, which provides math professional development for schools and districts.

She is the coauthor of Mastering the Basic Math Facts in Addition and Subtraction and Mastering the Basic Math Facts in Multiplication and Division, and she has also coauthored Putting the Practices Into Action, Math in Practice, and Now I Get It. Her earlier work includes serving as editor of Heinemann’s Math Process Standards series and authoring books such as Introduction to Problem Solving and Introduction to Communication.
