Suzanne Whaley

Suzanne Whaley is a National Board Certified teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia, where she has worked as both a classroom teacher and literacy specialist for twenty-two years. She currently leads literacy professional development for reading specialists, principals, school teams, and teachers in her district.

Whaley is coauthor of Powerful Book Introductions: Leading with Meaning for Deeper Thinking, a professional resource on planning effective guided reading book introductions, written with Kathleen Fay and Chrisie Moritz. She is also coauthor, with Kathleen Fay, of Becoming One Community: Reading & Writing with English Language Learners, which focuses on supporting English language learners in the classroom.
