Tajae Keith

Tajae Keith is a painter and character designer based in Oakland, California whose work explores Blackness through dynamic shapes and expressive color. Inspired by rap as “the heartbeat of the Black community,” she often works at night, painting under the cover of darkness with a cup of coffee nearby.

Keith is an illustrator for the Parker Curry early reader series, contributing art to Level 1 Ready-to-Read titles including Parker Dresses Up, Parker Grows a Garden, Your Friend, Parker, and Parker’s Big Feelings, as well as additional Parker Curry books and boxed sets published by Simon Spotlight. Beyond children’s books, she has created cover and interior art for FIYAH Literary Magazine, and is active as a visual artist across digital and traditional media.
