Tammy Mulligan

Tammy Mulligan is a literacy educator, classroom teacher, and author who works with elementary students and teachers while also consulting on literacy instruction and book access in schools. She has taught second graders at Hanscom Primary School and spends much of her time “teaching and thinking alongside elementary teachers and kids,” in addition to her work as a contributor to Choice Literacy.

She is the co-author of It’s All About the Books: How to Create Bookrooms and Classroom Libraries That Inspire Readers with Clare Landrigan, a book that shares systems for building classroom libraries and bookrooms that support student choice and instructional goals. Mulligan also co-authored Assessment in Perspective: Focusing on the Reader Behind the Numbers, and is the author of The Power of Quick and Frequent Practice: Joyful Small Moves with Big Impacts on Elementary Literacy, which focuses on practical, high-impact routines in areas such as planning, phonics, fluency, comprehension, and family connections.
