Tan Huynh
Tan Huynh is an educator, consultant, and author who specializes in supporting secondary multilingual learners, particularly students who have been in language development programs for five or more years and are often labeled as long-term English learners. He is the coauthor, with Beth Skelton, of Long-Term Success for Experienced Multilinguals (Corwin, 2023), a practical, research-based guide that offers a cross-curricular instructional framework and classroom strategies to help experienced multilinguals access rigorous academic content and develop advanced language proficiency.
Building on that work, Huynh and Skelton coauthored Integrated Literacy for Experienced Multilinguals, Grades 4–12, which introduces an Integrated Literacy Framework that systematically weaves the four language domains—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—with key dimensions of academic language to support content-based units and academic literacy development for experienced multilingual students. In addition to his books, Huynh works internationally with teachers and schools through professional learning, courses, and media such as webinars and podcasts, focusing on asset-based approaches to multilingual learners and collaboration among educators.
