Tim Cusack
Timothy P. Cusack, Ed.D., is a Canadian educator and leadership expert with more than three decades of experience in K–12 education as a classroom teacher, department head, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent of learning services, and deputy superintendent. His work focuses on new teacher preparation, mentorship, and leadership development, and he has served in senior roles supporting school leadership teams and aspiring leaders in Edmonton Catholic Schools. Cusack completed his doctoral studies at the University of Portland, where his dissertation examined the self-efficacy of assistant principals and how best to prepare them for the principalship.
Cusack is the co-author of Navigating the First Years: A Toolkit for Classroom Success and The Mentor’s Guidebook: Unleashing Your Potential to Inspire and Retain New Teachers, both published by Corwin as practical resources for beginning teachers and their mentors. In addition to his educational leadership career, he has over 30 years of service as a Naval Warfare Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy (Reserve), including time as executive officer and commanding officer of HMCS Nonsuch in Edmonton.
