Timothy J Donohue

Timothy J. Donohue is a former high school English teacher who currently serves as an assistant superintendent in New Jersey, focusing on teaching and learning leadership. He is the co-author of Not Your Granny’s Grammar: An Innovative Approach to Meaningful and Engaging Grammar Instruction, a professional resource that introduces a research-based “Grammar Study” approach blending explicit instruction with inquiry to make grammar instruction more engaging and effective for students in grades 2–8.

Through his work on Not Your Granny’s Grammar, Donohue has collaborated closely with literacy educator Patty McGee to develop classroom-tested grammar lessons designed to integrate naturally into writing instruction and to support authentic, student-centered practice.
