Todd Whitney
Todd Whitney is an educational researcher and practitioner focused on improving student engagement and instructional practices in K–12 classrooms. He is the lead author of Creating an Actively Engaged Classroom: 14 Strategies for Student Success, published by Corwin in 2021, co‑written with Justin T. Cooper and Terrance M. Scott. Whitney is affiliated with the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Louisville, where his work centers on classroom engagement and evidence-based strategies for supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
In addition to his book, Whitney has co‑authored peer‑reviewed articles on student engagement and opportunities to respond in inclusive classrooms, including work on response strategies for students with emotional and behavioral disorders and research on student response types.
