Tom Conklin

Tom Conklin is an education writer whose work focuses on resources for teachers and middle grade students, particularly in the areas of social and emotional learning and literacy. He is the author of Social and Emotional Learning in Middle School: Essential Lessons for Student Success, a 2014 Scholastic Teaching Resources title that provides researched-based lessons, strategies, and activities to help students develop self-awareness, manage emotions, build peer relationships, and cope with stress and bullying in grades 5 and up.

In addition to his social-emotional learning work, Conklin has written other instructional materials for teachers, including Nonfiction Comprehension Cliffhangers: 15 High-Interest True Stories That Invite Students to Infer, Visualize, and Summarize to Predict the Ending of Each Story, described as his third book with Scholastic Teaching Resources and noting him as a New Jersey–based writer who writes for children and teachers.
