Tom Sherrington

Tom Sherrington is a UK-based education author, consultant and former headteacher with more than 30 years’ experience as a maths and science teacher and school leader. He founded and runs the widely followed teacherhead consultancy and blog, working with schools and colleges in the UK and internationally on teaching, curriculum and assessment, and is in demand as a conference speaker and CPD provider.

He is the author of Rosenshine’s Principles in Action, a best‑selling guide that amplifies Barak Rosenshine’s research-informed principles of instruction and shows how they can be applied in everyday classrooms. Sherrington is also co‑creator, with Oliver Caviglioli, of the Teaching WalkThrus series and the WalkThru 5-step guides to build great teaching (USA Edition), which present five-step instructional coaching guides for key aspects of classroom practice and underpin a widely used digital CPD programme.
