Tony Frontier

Tony Frontier, PhD, is an award-winning educator, author, and consultant who works with teachers and school leaders nationally and internationally to improve curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student learning. He has served as a classroom teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools, an associate high school principal, director of instruction for the Whitefish Bay School District, a university professor teaching PhD candidates in statistics, research, and learning theory, and Director of the AI Center for Effective Teaching and Learning at FIRST Educational Resources. Frontier is also a consultant with McTighe & Associates and an ASCD Faculty member.

Frontier is the author of AI with Intention: Principles and Action Steps for Teachers and School Leaders and Teaching with Clarity: How to Prioritize and Do Less So Students Understand More. He co‑authored Making Teachers Better, Not Bitter: Balancing Evaluation, Supervision, and Reflection for Professional Growth, as well as Effective Supervision: Supporting the Art and Science of Teaching, Five Levers to Improve Learning: How to Prioritize for Powerful Results in Your School, and Creating Passionate Learners: Engaging Today’s Students for Tomorrow’s World. His work focuses on student engagement, evidence‑based assessment, effective instruction, technology integration, data analysis, strategic planning, academic integrity, and systems approaches to building capacity in schools[
