Trisha Lee
Trisha Lee is the founder and Artistic Director of MakeBelieve Arts, a theatre and education charity behind the Helicopter Stories approach to storytelling and story acting in the early years. A professionally trained theatre director and storyteller, she has played a leading role in developing and pioneering Helicopter Stories in the UK, building on the curriculum work of Vivian Gussin Paley to support young children’s communication, confidence, and literacy.
Lee is the author of the bestselling Princesses, Dragons and Helicopter Stories: Storytelling and Story Acting in the Early Years (Routledge, 2015), which offers a practical, step‑by‑step guide for educators implementing the Helicopter Stories approach. She has also written The Growth of a Storyteller: Helicopter Stories in Action, a sequel documenting three years of classroom‑based research with children aged two to seven, along with other books and picture book titles that explore issues arising in the early years classroom.
