Tucker Kate Tucker

Kate Tucker is an early years teacher, trainer, and writer based in Exeter, Devon. Trained to work with nursery and lower-primary-aged children, she has taught children aged three to eight for more than 20 years. Her professional roles have included assistant head teacher, leading mathematics teacher, and Foundation Stage leading teacher in Devon; she has also taught mathematics to Early Childhood Studies BEd students at the University of Plymouth.

Tucker is the author of Mathematics Through Play in the Early Years, a practical guide linking research and classroom practice in early years mathematics. The book has appeared in multiple editions and addresses playful teaching, mathematical environments, inclusion, assessment, and the transition from the Foundation Stage to Key Stage 1.
