Violet Findley

Violet Findley is a children’s author and educational writer whose work is frequently published by Scholastic, particularly for early and emergent readers. She has written numerous titles that support literacy and foundational skills, including Guided Science Readers: Level B: Fun Nonfiction Books That Are Just Right for New Readers and other Guided Science Readers in levels A–F, as well as classroom resources such as Cursive Writing Practice: Jokes & Riddles, Handwriting Practice: Jokes & Riddles, and materials that build skills in phonics, handwriting, and basic math.

Findley is also known for her contributions to Easy Reader Biographies and folk and fairy tale retellings designed for young students. Her works in these series include Easy Reader Biographies: Abraham Lincoln: A Great President, A Great American and other short biographies tailored to K–2 readers, along with retellings such as The Little Red Hen, The Gingerbread Man, Cinderella, The Nightingale, and The Tortoise and the Hare, all structured to help children practice reading while engaging with classic stories and key features of nonfiction.
