Wayne Davies
Wayne Davies is the Director of Student Teaching and an Instructor III in the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg. The university describes his background as including 32 years as a teacher and school leader, with experience in Lax Kw’alaams, British Columbia, and in rural and urban school divisions in Manitoba; it also notes that he completed an Ed.D. in educational leadership at the University of Western Ontario and that his research interests include teacher recruitment and retention in remote and rural schools and factors influencing success of Indigenous learners.
Davies is a co-author of The Mentor’s Guidebook: Unleashing Your Potential to Inspire and Retain New Teachers and Navigating the First Years: A Toolkit for Classroom Success, both published by Corwin/SAGE in 2025. The University of Winnipeg biography also notes that he wrote about the BOSS Guitar Works project in his novel The Guitar Principal.
