William L. Bass II

William L. Bass II is an educator and author who focuses on the integration of digital tools into literacy instruction for elementary and middle school students. He coauthored Digital Reading: What’s Essential in Grades 3–8 (Principles in Practice, NCTE, 2015) with Franki Sibberson, a professional text that examines how digital reading and digital texts can be authentically embedded across the curriculum to support students in grades 3–8.

Bass has worked as a district technology coordinator/innovation coordinator for instructional technology and library media in the Parkway School District in the St. Louis, Missouri, area, drawing on his experience as a former high school English teacher to address systemic, sustainable technology integration. He has served in leadership roles with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), including as president of its Board of Directors, and teaches as an adjunct professor of educational technology at Missouri Baptist University, contributing to the preparation of educators in effective, authentic uses of instructional technology.
