William Mellman
William Mellman, EdD, is an educational leader and mathematics educator who has served as a math and science teacher, vice principal, instructional leader, and program director overseeing the mathematics department at Health Sciences High & Middle College, where he helped develop the program into an exemplar for other schools. He later became an elementary school principal in National City, California, where he has been credited with significantly raising student achievement.
Mellman is a coauthor of Visible Learning for Mathematics, Grades K–12: What Works Best to Optimize Student Learning (Corwin, 2017), written with John Hattie, Douglas Fisher, Nancy Frey, Linda M. Gojak, and Sara Delano Moore, which applies the Visible Learning research to mathematics instruction across the K–12 continuum.
