Yas Imamura

Yas Imamura is an Asian American children’s book illustrator known for her warm, expressive artwork, working primarily in gouache and watercolor. She illustrated the acclaimed picture book Love in the Library by Maggie Tokuda-Hall, as well as Can You Imagine? by Lisa Tolin, Winged Wonders by Meeg Pincus, The Very Oldest Pear Tree by Nancy I. Sanders, The Bicycle: How an Act of Kindness Changed a Young Refugee’s Life, and The Elevator on 74th Street by Laura Gehl.

Imamura grew up in Manila, Philippines and now lives and works in Portland, Oregon, where she continues to create picture books and illustrations for children. In addition to her book work, she has collaborated with brands such as Anthropologie and Sanrio and has been described as an illustrator, graphic designer, and owner of the stationery company Quill & Fox.
