Yevgenia Nayberg
Yevgenia Nayberg is an award-winning author-illustrator, painter, and stage designer, born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine and now based in New York City. Trained in classical drawing and painting at the National School of Arts in Kiev, she went on to earn an MFA in theatre design, and has designed sets and costumes for more than forty theatrical productions, receiving honors such as the National Endowment for the Arts/TCG Fellowship for Theatre Designers, the Independent Theatre Award, and the Arlin Meyer Award. Her artwork has appeared in magazines, children’s books, theatre posters, music albums, and book covers, and is held in private collections worldwide.
As a picture book creator, Nayberg has both authored and illustrated titles including Anya’s Secret Society, Typewriter, Mona Lisa in New York, and I Hate Borsch!, with Anya’s Secret Society receiving a Junior Library Guild Gold Selection Award and I Hate Borsch! named Gold Winner of the 2022 Foreword Indies Book of the Year Awards. She has also illustrated numerous other books, among them Martin & Anne: The Kindred Spirits of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Anne Frank, A Queen to the Rescue, **Numbers in Motion
