Yimei Wang

Yimei Wang is an award‑winning children’s author whose works have been published in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and China. When she is not writing, she works at Suzhou University’s Sociology College.

She is the author of the picture book Grandma and the Rooster, illustrated by Hechen Yu and first published in hardcover in October 2020. Set during Chinese New Year, the book follows a grandmother, her granddaughter Xiaoyue, and a rooster they take on a journey through the city as they celebrate the holiday, and it has been included in recommended reading lists for children’s collections and culturally responsive elementary curricula.
