Young-Suk Grace Kim
Young-Suk Grace Kim is a professor at the University of California, Irvine’s School of Education and a former classroom teacher in San Francisco. She earned an Ed.D. from Harvard University in Human Development and Psychology with a focus on language and literacy, and her research centers on language and literacy development, reading and writing relations, and effective instruction for diverse learners.
Her published work includes Cultivating the Reader and Writer: Teaching Literacy as an Integrated Science, in which she presents a research-based framework for connecting the science of reading and the science of writing. She has also been recognized as an AERA Fellow and received the 2012 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers.
