Alana Griffin Schnitz

Alana Griffin Schnitz, Ph.D., BCBA, is a special education scholar and behavior analyst whose work focuses on early intervention, infant–toddler development, and family-centered practices. She earned her doctorate in Special Education from Vanderbilt University in 2016, completing a dissertation on the effects of parent training on parent–child interactions and child behavior. She later joined the University of Kansas, where she has served as an assistant research professor with the Juniper Gardens Children’s Project and an assistant professor of special education.

Schnitz is a coauthor and editor on multiple works addressing early childhood intervention and data-based decision making, including research on early problem-solving indicators, infant–toddler communication, and dosage reporting in early intervention. She is coauthor of the 2025 professional resource Unpacking the Infant–Toddler Pyramid Model: A Practical Guide for Teachers and Providers, published by Brookes Publishing, and has contributed as an editor to an earlier volume on the Pyramid Model for infants and toddlers.
