Alexandria Osburn

Alexandria (Alex) Osburn is an educator and literacy specialist who co-authored The Structured Literacy Playbook: Preplanned Lessons for Building Phonics and Fluency Skills (DK Playbooks) with Melissa Orkin and Sarah Gannon. The playbook is a practical, research-based resource that offers preplanned lessons and structured routines to help teachers deliver explicit phonics and fluency instruction, particularly through decodable texts and multi-component lessons that integrate phonology, orthography, semantics, syntax, and morphology.

Osburn is part of the Crafting Minds group, which develops evidence-based tools and instructional materials to support structured literacy in classrooms. Under the name Alex Osburn, she is credited as M.Ed. on materials associated with The Structured Literacy Playbook and related structured literacy routines created in collaboration with Phonic Books and Crafting Minds.
