Debra S. Peterson
Debra S. Peterson is a consultant with the Minnesota Center for Reading Research at the University of Minnesota and a coauthor of No More Reading Instruction Without Differentiation (2016), written with Lynn Geronemus Bigelman. She has also been identified in later professional and academic sources as a teacher, researcher, and consultant in reading education, and as a recipient of the International Literacy Association’s Albert J. Harris Award for outstanding reading research.
More recent sources also identify her as Deborah S. Peterson, associate professor emerita in Educational Leadership and Policy at Portland State University, where her work has focused on equity in education and school leadership. Her later books include Improvement Science: Promoting Equity in Schools (2021) and Improvement Science as a Tool for School Enhancement: Solutions for Better Educational Outcomes (2022), both coauthored with Susan Carlile.
