Diane Yendol-Hoppey

Diane Yendol-Hoppey is a professor of teacher education in the College of Education and Human Services at the University of North Florida, where she has also served in leadership roles including dean, associate dean of educator preparation and partnerships, department chair, center director, and School–University Partnerships director. Previously, she was associate dean in the College of Education at the University of South Florida, directed the Benedum Collaborative at West Virginia University, and taught for many years at the University of Florida, where she evaluated district, state, and national professional development initiatives. Before entering higher education, she spent 13 years as an elementary school teacher in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Yendol-Hoppey holds a PhD in curriculum and instruction from The Pennsylvania State University, where she also completed an MA in Educational Theory and Policy, post‑baccalaureate educator certification, and a BA in Advertising. Her scholarship focuses on teacher inquiry, clinically rich teacher education and clinical practice, job‑embedded professional learning, teacher leadership, equity pedagogy, and school–university partnerships. She is coauthor of The Reflective Educator’s Guide to Practitioner Inquiry and multiple editions of *The Reflective Educator’s Guide to Classroom Research: Learning to Teach
