Emily Brokaw
Emily Brokaw is an education leader in the Dallas Independent School District and a coauthor of Coaching for Impact: A Guide to What Works Best in Instruction. She has served as an assistant principal and principal in Dallas, following earlier roles as a campus coordinator and instructional coach focused on Assessment for Learning, professional learning, and new teacher induction in a large high school.
Previously, Brokaw taught high school U.S. History and social studies for six years and chaired the social studies department. She holds a Master’s in the Art of Teaching from Texas A&M University–Commerce and a Master’s in Urban Educational Leadership from Southern Methodist University. In addition to her book, she has written articles for MiddleWeb and Corwin Connect on formative assessment practices, student questioning, and co-creating learning cultures with students.
