L. C. (Buster) Evans

Dr. L. C. “Buster” Evans, Ed.D., wrote the foreword to Where to Spend, Where to Save: A Teacher’s Guide to Managing Your Finances, a practical personal finance guide for educators by Danny Kofke. He is best known for his leadership of the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia (TRS), where he served as executive director beginning in 2016 and led the state’s teacher pension system through a period of significant asset growth and post-pandemic market volatility.

During his tenure at TRS, Evans frequently communicated with members through the system’s “Your Retirement in Focus” podcast and other public updates, discussing pension performance, legislative developments, and retirement planning for Georgia educators. In 2025 TRS announced his retirement from the executive director role, effective November 1, 2025, after nine years of service to the system.
