Janet May Clinton
Janet May Clinton (Janet M. Clinton) is Deputy Dean of the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, Director of the Teacher and Teaching Effectiveness Research Hub, and Professor in Evaluation at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. She has wide international experience as both an evaluator and educator, particularly across the fields of education and health, and has led more than 120 international evaluation projects. Her work in program evaluation focuses on evaluation theory, mixed methodologies, data analytics, and the development of evaluation frameworks and implementation protocols, including using evaluation as a vehicle for change and for building capacity through stakeholder engagement.
Clinton is a co-author of Building to Impact: The 5D Implementation Playbook for Educators (Corwin/SAGE, 2022), written with Arran Hamilton, Douglas B. Reeves, and John Hattie, which introduces the 5D implementation framework—Discover, Design, Deliver, Double Back, and Double Up—for translating evidence into educational impact.
