Jeanne Spiller
Jeanne Spiller is an educator, author, and consultant with more than thirty years of experience in K–12 education, specializing in professional learning communities, literacy, and inclusive practices. She has served as assistant superintendent for teaching and learning for Kildeer Countryside Community Consolidated School District 96 in Illinois, where her work has included leading implementation of the Common Core State Standards, particularly in English language arts, and supporting schools in unpacking, prioritizing, and pacing standards to improve instruction and equity. She is also an associate with Solution Tree, providing workshops, coaching, and guidance to schools and districts on building collaborative cultures and enhancing instruction through the PLC at Work® process.
Spiller is the coauthor of several professional books for educators, including Leading With Intention: Eight Areas for Reflection and Planning in Your PLC at Work® (with Karen Power) and Yes We Can! General and Special Educators Collaborating in a Professional Learning Community (with Heather Friziellie and Julie A. Schmidt), which focus on intentional leadership in PLCs and effective collaboration between general and special educators. She is also the author of A Leader’s Guide to Reading and Writing in a PLC at Work®, Elementary, and she presents frequently at professional conferences and events on topics such as literacy learning progressions, collaboration in PLCs, and improving outcomes for all students through focused, team-based work.[11
