Kierstan Barbee

Kierstan Barbee, EdD, is an educational consultant and author specializing in teacher clarity, assessment for learning, and instructional practices that promote equity and student agency in PreK–12 settings. She holds a doctoral degree in educational leadership and literacy from the University of Houston and a master’s degree from Harvard University, and has served as a secondary English language arts teacher, academic coach, professional development supervisor, and project manager of assessment for learning in the Dallas Independent School District, where she designed system-wide professional learning for central office staff and campuses.

Barbee brings around 20 years of education-related experience and works as a full-time consultant with Corwin, coaching principals, teachers, and district leaders on research- and evidence-informed pedagogical practices that accelerate student learning.
