Kyle Hattie
Kyle Hattie is a Year 6 teacher working in a primary school in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, with around a decade of classroom experience across year levels from Prep to Year 6 in both Australia and New Zealand. He has taught at all levels of primary school in New Zealand and Victoria, specialized in innovative learning environments, and has served as acting assistant principal at Stonefields School in Auckland. Hattie has also held various leadership roles, including participation in an Exemplary Teaching Program, work as a Learning Specialist, and coordination of “The nature of learning” project, through which he helped identify students’ and teachers’ conceptions of learning and led the development of a school’s seven learning dispositions that were integrated into its teaching and learning model.
Hattie is co‑author of 10 Steps to Develop Great Learners: Visible Learning for Parents with John Hattie, a book released in April 2022 that offers a 10‑step framework to help parents nurture curiosity, intellectual ambition, and a home environment that values learning.
