Marilee Sprenger

Marilee Sprenger is a veteran educator, author, and professional development specialist known for her work connecting brain research to classroom practice. She has more than 25 years of experience teaching at the elementary, middle, and high school levels and works internationally as a consultant in educational neuroscience, memory, differentiation, reading, vocabulary, social-emotional learning, and executive functioning. Sprenger is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and serves as an adjunct professor at Aurora University, where she teaches graduate courses on brain-based teaching, learning and memory, and differentiation.

Sprenger has authored numerous publications on the brain and learning, including How to Teach So Students Remember, 2nd Edition, The Essential 25: Teaching the Vocabulary That Makes or Breaks Student Understanding, and The Missing Link to Help Them Think: Connecting Executive Function and SEL Skills to Boost Student Achievement. Her other works include titles such as Memory 101 for Educators, Becoming a Wiz at Brain-Based Teaching, Learning & Memory: The Brain in Action, and related guides on executive function and social-emotional learning. She is a frequent keynote speaker and workshop presenter at conferences and trainings in the United States
