Michael J. Maffoni
Michael J. Maffoni is an educator and education consultant based in Colorado, with professional experience as a teacher, principal, and central office administrator in multiple Colorado school districts. He served as director of professional learning communities (PLCs) for Jeffco Public Schools in Golden, Colorado, where he led PLC implementation in more than one hundred schools and helped develop integrated support systems, monitoring processes, and aligned professional learning. He also teaches educational leadership courses as an affiliate faculty member at Regis University. Maffoni holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Wyoming and a master’s degree in education/administration and supervision from the University of Phoenix.
Maffoni is coauthor of several books focused on coaching and supporting collaborative teams in PLCs at Work®, including How Schools Thrive: Building a Coaching Culture for Collaborative Teams in PLCs at Work®, Amplify Your Impact: Coaching Collaborative Teams in PLCs at Work®, and Energize Your Teams: Powerful Tools for Coaching Collaborative Teams in PLCs at Work®, all published by Solution Tree with coauthors Thomas W. Many, Susan K. Sparks, and Tesha Ferriby Thomas. He has also coauthored articles on increasing the effectiveness of collaborative teams and presents at state and national events on topics related to continuous improvement for schools, teams, and individual educators
