Phil Warrick

Phil Warrick, Ed.D., is an author and global education consultant with Marzano Resources and Solution Tree who has co-developed and supported the High Reliability Schools™ framework and Professional Learning Communities at Work® improvement models. He spent the first 25 years of his education career as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and superintendent in Nebraska and Texas, and was recognized as the 1998 Nebraska Outstanding New Principal of the Year and the 2005 Nebraska State High School Principal of the Year. In 2008, he became principal of Round Rock High School in Round Rock, Texas, where he worked with Robert J. Marzano to implement the New Art and Science of Teaching framework and helped incubate the High Reliability Schools™ model.

Warrick earned a bachelor of science from Chadron State College and master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, and has served as an adjunct professor at Peru State College since 2005. He is a former regional president of the Nebraska Council of School Administrators and chaired its legislative committee. As an author, he has contributed to multiple works on school leadership, instructional coaching, and grading, including Coaching Classroom Instruction, A Handbook for High Reliability Schools: The Next Step in School Reform, A School Leader’s Guide to Standards-Based Grading, and resources on High Reliability Schools and PLC at Work®.
